ChL on its way onto eliminating the weakest
14 February 2012After a break of more than two months the UEFA is once again lighting up the most prestigious tournament in European football – the UEFA Champions League. The round of 16 is upcoming this evening, which the first four matchups of the total eight; Bayer 04 Leverkusen – Barcelona, Lyon – APOEL Nicosia, Zenit Petersborg – Benfica, AC Milan – Arsenal
Bayer 04 Leverkusen is facing their toughest opponent this season as they face FC Barcelona. They will be without key midfielder Michael Ballack who is ruled out by a calf muscle injury. Four other Bayer 04 players are out as well, these being René Adler, Tranquillo Barnetta, Eren Derdiyok and Sidney Sam. Their opponent Barcelona ruled out with Fontas, Villa and Affellay.
Lyon is having trouble in the defense where Déjan Lovren is not available for the first leg, while Zenit must play without their star players Danny and Criscito. The unluck struck Arsenal very hard. Mertesacker gained an ankle injury which led to a Sunderland-goal this weekend and also led to Wenger having to change his line of defense before facing Milan at San Siro. The home team will play without Cassano and Merkel.
