Injuries hit Chelsea at a crucial time

The mid-week games had its costs on the list of injuries among the top clubs in the English Premier League. Andre Villas Boas is struggling hard to find his preferable four in the defense, and while Ashley Cole has a lack of form, his colleague Jose Bosingwa has ruptured a muscle and must now be sidelined for a yet unknown time frame. Likewise John Terry will be out for another six weeks leaving Chelsea’s defense vulnerable.

German Bundesliga
The German Bundesliga is approaching the 23rd round this weekend. There are great news for FC Köln as Lukas Podolski is returning after having been injured for the last couple of rounds. In Dortmund Japanese striker Shinji Kagawa is also returning to the squad for Sunday’s match against Hannover 96, however Moritz Leitner is not in the squad this weekend due to abdominal influenza. Bayer 04 Leverkusen will be happy with the news regarding goalkeeper Rene Adler who has been injured throughout the season as he is now expected back in the middle of March.

Spanish Primera Division
2012 is proving fatal for Di Maria. The Argentine was injured last Saturday against Racing. The new fracture on his right leg will keep him away from the lawn approximately one month. During Tuesday’s cold match against CSKA Moscow Karim Benzema was injured after a missed shot on goal. It has now been confirmed that he has a muscle injury. He will be out for two or three months. Meanwhile, Atlético Madrid midfielder Diego has a muscle tear in the thigh. He won’t be able to play until March.
